<p><br>The gear selector and gear selector cruciform represent, for all the Vespa models, are a key component for the proper functioning of the gearbox but they are particularly stressed.</p>
<p><br>It is precisely for these special needs that the Polini engineers have designed a series of gear selectors forthe most popular Vespa Small Frame and PX models, produced with high quality steel which allows to<br>achieve very high hardness / resiliency features.</p>
<p><br>The engagement teeth must be superficially very hard to withstand the sliding wear but, at the same time, they must have a very high resiliency to resist the shocks which a transmission is constantly subject to.</p>
<p><br>The complex geometry of the Small Frame models requires a careful machining to have a low roughness on the gear engagement cam.</p>
<p><br>The mechanical features, well above the original ones, make the gear selectors essential for the tuned<br>engines. In case of assembly on standard engines, they grant higher reliability and longer life.</p>
