<p>Polini Motori and Vespa: a duo with a 70 years long history. An unbreakable bond through the time that still today gives emotion to all the enthusiasts.</p>
<p>The relationship between Polini and the most famous scooter in the world has solid roots and keeps on signing the collective imagination. The Vespa with the Polini cylinder kit distinguishes for the sprint, in every driving condition. There are those who like speed, who like a smooth driving, or a fast sprint: Polini Motori opens a range of emotions unique and without comparison.</p>
<p>How to reach this goal? The <strong>most important step</strong> is to <strong>replace the CDI with the new Polini ECM “Engine Control Unit” with valves springs</strong>.</p>
<p>It is very important to change the CDI for the setup.</p>
<p>It has been studied and set thanks to the feedback coming from the racing department and its upgrade gives you the possibility to choose between <strong>3 different maps</strong> for a deeper personalization by the end user.</p>
<p>The <strong>addition of the valves springs</strong> in the packaging <strong>lets the limiter reach 10.000 rpm</strong> with better results in terms of speed and a performance increase that grants smoother and more dynamic driving.</p>
<p>Depending on the assembly steps of your scooter it is important to match the proper map developed by Polini.</p>
<p><strong>Map</strong><strong> 1</strong></p>
<p>It’s the easiest assembly step since it is enough to <strong>remove the original CDI and install the Polini ECM</strong> for Vespa and Liberty 50 4str Euro 5; it’s an <strong>electronic plug & play CDI ready to be installed</strong>.<br>
By <strong>replacing it the RPM limiter</strong> goes <strong>from 7.500 to 8.100 rpm</strong>.</p>
<p>With this map, it is possible to keep the Piaggio original engine but it is <strong>recommended installing the Polini variator</strong> (<strong>241.737</strong>) <strong>and the Polini muffler</strong> (<strong>190.0079</strong>).</p>
<p>The <strong>Hi-Speed variator</strong> lets a small <strong>speed and acceleration increase</strong>.</p>
<p>For better engine efficiency Polini recommends the assembly of the Original Polini muffler: with a design similar to the original one it has a refined character but discreet at the same time. It is made of alloy and it features an incredible lightness.</p>
<p>With this map the speedometer goes from 45 km/h to 50/53 km/h.</p>
<p><strong>Map 2</strong></p>
<p>With the <strong>second map</strong> you get to the <strong>heart of the customization</strong> and you bring the vehicle to a higher level. It’s very important to rely on a professional since you have to work on the engine. First of all it is important to know that <strong>it is mandatory to change the original valves springs with the Polini</strong> ones (already included in the packaging of the ECU) that let you bring the <strong>engine limiter to 10.000 rpm without problems to the valves</strong>.</p>
<p>This map too works with the original engine but Polini recommends installing the Polini Variator (<strong>241.737</strong>), the Polini muffler (<strong>190.0079</strong>) and the bigger air filter sleeve (<strong>223.0131</strong>).</p>
<p>With this step the <strong>speedometer goes from 45 km/h to 56/60 km/h.</strong></p>
<p><strong>CAUTION</strong> – <strong>to change the springs you have to disassemble the engine</strong>. With a small contribute in terms of costs it is possible to install the cylinder and the upgrade gear ratio (using map 3) with a highly performing result.</p>
<p><strong>Map 3</strong></p>
<p>Now it’s missing very little to have a Vespa with a sprint soul, with a maximum speed of 70/75 km/h. If with Map 2 there has been a significant work on the engine to install the springs, with a little additional step you can configurate your vehicle with Map 3 and to achieve the maximum performance.</p>
<p>It’s with Map 3 in fact that you feel a clear difference.</p>
<p>The base of this step is the <strong>49mm cylinder kit that brings the engine to 80cc</strong> (<strong>140.0223</strong>) with the <strong>Polini increase gears</strong> (<strong>202.1424</strong>) <strong>mandatory to achieve the best result.</strong></p>
<p>The performance are <strong>better both in terms of maximum speed and acceleration</strong>, with a sprint both during starts and overtakes, with a <strong>50% increase of the maximum speed</strong></p>
<p>With this map it is also <strong>recommended installing the Polini variator</strong> (<strong>241.737</strong>), the <strong>Polini muffler</strong> (<strong>190.0079</strong>) and the <strong>Polini upgrade air filter sleeve</strong> (<strong>223.0131</strong>).</p>
