<p>Malossi oil seals are technically advanced and, although developed specifically for racing, they also perform excellently in normal road use. These oil seals, made from the best materials used in the motorsport sector, can withstand the most severe conditions. They are the result of the application of the most advanced technologies and offer a production quality that meets the highest standards of Malossi.</p>
<p>The contact area between the sealing lip and the rotating element that passes through the bore of the oil seal is the most important area and is protected for this reason: Contact between the edge of the tongue and the shaft is ensured by the spring and the walls (membrane and lip), which ensure that the necessary edge engagement exists between the two elements for the development of the radial force needed to achieve an optimal seal. After a short period of use, the lip edge changes and allows a thin film of liquid to form between the shaft and the lip, preventing direct contact between the two elements and favoring lubrication. This prevents the oil from leaking out and the service life of the sealing ring increases exponentially.</p>
<p>Let's now take a closer look at the main elements of our oil seals <strong>(see Fig. 2)</strong>:</p>

<li>Main body made of a fluorinated special elastomer compound called FKM, which is one of the best on the market. It is characterized by excellent physical properties over a wide temperature range (-15°C - +210°C), a maximum operating speed that can also reach up to 35 - 40 m/s, and very high resistance when immersed in hydrocarbons. The latter property makes our oil seal extremely durable.</li>
<li>Metal insert (fitting) made of steel in accordance with the applicable regulations, which gives the oil seal the right mechanical resistance.</li>
<li>3. Inner spring made of stainless steel that does not lose its properties over time.</li>
